    • As an Intelligence Specialist (INTERN) you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Train in conducting intelligence analysis to provide narrative assessments.

    • Assist in the processing of intelligence assignments to support senior Intelligence Specialist.

    Requirements

    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • This position requires a mobility agreement IAW AR 690-950.
    • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required for approximate 25% of the time.

    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG/GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with intelligence related research or, gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to assist in preparing intelligence reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

    Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

    Education

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you may qualify if your education meets the definition below:

    Education: Successfully completed a Bachelor's Degree that is closely related to the position;

    OR

    a Bachelor's Degree that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarters hours that are closely related to the position; OR a Bachelor's with Superior Academic Achievement as defined by OPM;

    OR

    a Bachelor's Degree supplemented by graduation from the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course (MIOBC) or the Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course (MIOAC). Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography Social or Cultural Anthropology and/or Physical or Chemical Science.     Combination of Education and Experience: Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have some graduate education as described in B, but less than the required one year. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.).
