As the Business Office Manager, you are responsible for developing census and quality mix by providing prospective patients and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center. You direct the overall Business Office activities in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator, to assure that tasks are done correctly and on schedule, such as Resident Funds, Census Records, and coordination of efforts with Quality Healthcare Services.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts the admission process of signing in and explaining admission policies to patients and their families. Ensures a smooth transition is achieved and that all paperwork is complete upon admission. Emphasizes financial arrangements and responsibilities.
• Ensures financial verification is accurate and complete before the patient is admitted to the Facility thus assisting in reducing accounts receivable.
• Follows daily and weekly task list, and month-end close checklist. Ensures completion of the Daily Census Verification process.
• Ensures that all room, ancillary, and miscellaneous charges are timely recorded.
• Ensures that the RUG Billing Triple Check Process is followed on a continuous basis.
• Manages private pay billing and ensures that the Centralized Statement process is followed and manages Medicare ADRs and appeals per established procedure.
• Assists inquiries by conducting tours of the center, completing inquiry electronic system for admissions, and providing patient’s family with brochures about nursing home, Medicare facts, and room rates.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Highschool Diploma required, Associates Degree in Business or Accounting fields; and/or experience in business office operations in long term care or healthcare related field, preferred.
• Possess effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and governmental agencies, their representatives, and the community.
• Current knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations
