Responsible for admitting and registration, patient billing and collection, third-party payer relations, and/or preparation of insurance claims. Being a Business Office Manager - Healthcare ensures activities comply with hospital standards and government regulations. May also be responsible for the patient admitting function. Additionally, Business Office Manager - Healthcare generates budgets, financial statements, and various reports. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the head of a unit/department. The Business Office Manager - Healthcare manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. At Vivage, we bridge today’s healthcare opportunities with innovative strategies andsolutions.Engaging Culture ~ Competitive Pay ~ Growth Opportunities ~ Great Benefits ~ Family Environment ~ Payactiv OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:The primary responsibility of your job position is to direct the overall administrative activities following current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities.   You are entrusted to assure that proper administrative procedures are maintained at all times.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Billing and Collections:                           30% timePrepare financial and statistical reports, as directedPrepare and mail monthly statements timelyMaintain electronic and hard copy billing records for all payer sourcesMaintain Medicaid billing records for 5615’s - alphabetically, by yearMonitor and collect Accounts Receivables reporting delinquent accounts to the Nursing Home AdministratorMaintain and reconcile census daily and monthly in softwareRecord payments received to appropriate cash receipt journalsPost payments received to appropriate resident’s accountsPrepare and mail monthly statements timelyReconcile bank statements monthly Close AR software in accordance to Vivage time framePrepare financial and statistical reports, as directedOversight of Business Office document archivesSubmit claims for all payer types accurately and timely in accordance to Vivage policy/protocol, and in compliance with all state and federal regulationsImplement written Vivage Policies and Procedures that govern the accounting functions of the facilityParticipate in daily/weekly/monthly triple check process for Medicare and Managed Care resident claimsMedicaid Applications:               25% time Oversight work with technicians Monitor and track Medicaid Pending applications and re-determinations, assisting residents and familiesResident Trust Oversight:                       20% timeProvide oversight of Resident Trust account per regulations and company policyProvide each resident with a quarterly accounting of funds managed by the facilityComply with all State and Federal regulationsOversight of business office document archive Collaborative:               25% time Direct and coordinate the functions and activities of the business officeInvolved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstancesCommunicates effectively with facility staff and department supervisorsWorks well with families, residents, peers and staffPerform all other duties as assignedSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Google and Microsoft operating platformsLaws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing facility administrative procedures; Medicare, Medicaid and insurance processesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma (Associates Degree in Business Administration preferred)At least 1-3 years’ experience of nursing home business office functions; bookkeeping, basic accounting functions and bank reconciliations (industry experience preferred)Vivage is an Equal Opportunity Employer
