Job Summary:
The Business Office Supervisor assists in the management of the functions and activities of the business office relating to admissions, cashiering, verifying and posting charges, payments, and contractual allowances, processing statements for client billing, and assists Director with accounts receivable and billing functions as needed. Supervises business office and rural health clinic staff members, assists staff with work as needed, and maintains and controls supplies and equipment within the departments. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with billing processes as directed by Business Office Director.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate office activities, including managing schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met
- Provide guidance and support to office staff, including training and development
- Oversee administrative functions such as filing, record keeping, and data entry
- Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed
- Coordinate meetings and appointments, including calendar management
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment
- Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of phone systems and phone etiquette
- Experience in clerical or administrative roles
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs for office staff
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in office management is a plus
