The Business Office Manager is responsible for the business operations of the community including billings and collections, accounts payable, payroll, human resource management, maintenance of employee records and other administrative tasks.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee monthly and periodic billing to residents and third-party payors, including care plans, per-diem charges, and ancillary charges..
    • Responsible for applying cash receipts and depositing funds to bank accounts on a timely basis.  Follow up on past due accounts with resident, family, or third-party payors as appropriate. 
    • Coordinate with other departments to obtain documentation low-income programs including GAFC and LITC programs.
    • Prepare year end filings to ensure compliance with low-income programs.
    • Human Resources functions including running payroll, organized employee files according to state and EOEA requirements, perform new employee orientation and ensure completion of new hire paperwork, and management of healthcare, benefits, and enrollment thereof.  Maintain payroll system and records. 
    • Manage concierge staff including scheduling.
    • Submit accounts payable to corporate for payment.

    Qualifications/Education/Experience:

    • Either 1) Associates or bachelor’s degree, 2) three years in long term care billing/business administration or 3) seven years’ experience as a business manager outside long-term care.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong written and verbal abilities.
    • Extremely detailed oriented, organized and have strong time management skills.
    • Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for seniors and tact in dealing with others. 
    • Must demonstrate positive image/attitude, and strong leadership abilities.
    • Experience in skilled nursing and/or assisted living billing, including use of billing software (preferably PointClickCare) is a plus.
