Business Office Supervisor- Healthcare supervises day to day activities of a hospital's business office such as admitting and registration, patient billing and collection, third-party payer relations, and/or preparation of insurance claims. Effectively educates patients, families, insurance and medical personnel concerning department policies and procedures. Being a Business Office Supervisor- Healthcare ensure a high degree of patient satisfaction through efficient processing of transactions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Business Office Supervisor- Healthcare typically reports to a manager. The Business Office Supervisor- Healthcare supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Purpose:

    To provide leadership within assigned area and act as a liaison within Wilmington Health and represent the Clinic as an ambassador both in and outside of the Clinic.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assist in maintaining accountability for financial management of all areas to include:
    • Development of annual operating and capital budgets
    • Monthly analysis of financial statements
    • Implementation of action plans to ensure operation within established budgetary parameters
    • Maintains responsibility for planning and implementation activities in assigned areas to include:
    • Space planning
    • Staffing planning
    • Quality improvement planning
    • Project planning
    • Ensures efficiency of daily operations of all assigned areas
    • Ensures high quality of care to patients, service to the organization and its goals and cultivates relationships within and between departments. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Continuous development, evaluation and implementation of guidelines/protocols
    • Measurements and improvement of internal/external customer satisfaction
    • Development of quality improvement efforts in collaboration with healthcare team
    • Maintains patient confidentiality
    • Utilizes department process effectively in assessing customer needs and planning appropriate follow up/intervention
    • Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
    • Develops education materials, protocols, and guidelines in collaboration with physicians and other departments
    • Supports monitors and maintains regulatory requirements
    • Uses computer system efficiently, maintaining security standards and serves as a liaison to IT
    • Assist BO Manager to oversee departmental staff
    • Maintains effective communication and interacts appropriately, effectively, and professionally with all members of healthcare team
    • Assist BO Manager in conducting regular staff meetings to provide appropriate communication among employees
    • Provide and promote growth opportunities for staff
    • Maintains facility environmental integrity, including safety
    • Acts as a resource for the patient to address patient concerns and questions
    • Assist BO Manager to prepare employee evaluations
    • Analyze trends regarding financial statements, customer satisfaction, proper markets, insurance policies, etc.
    • Practice and adhere to the code of conduct policy/organization goals at Wilmington Health
    • Ability to identify areas for operational, financial and departmental improvements

    Other Duties:

    • Performs other duties and projects as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related feild

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree in related field
    • Minimum of two years management experience
