JOB DEFINITION

Duties are outlined in R&R Matrix found in IDMS.

The plant process technician reports to the production manager and shift coordinator. The Plant Process Technician performs tests on material to ensure discrepancies are reported to the Quality Control Manager. The employee is to maintain equipment and daily operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. This includes ensuring the plant is kept clean through specific job duties. The employee also tracks materials and reports any materials needed to fill orders for production. This job includes organizing and facilitating the flow of materials or product in and out of the plant.

MAJOR PROCESSES include the following (other duties may be assigned)

PROCESS TECHNICIAN

Responsible to see that all tests are performed in accordance and following the procedures set forth in the test methods and/or cooking masters.

• Ensure all discrepancies are reported to the Quality Control Manager and any equipment needing service is addressed.
• Assists in ensuring the plant operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally manner, according to regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Participate in MOC and PHA as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining the production schedule as posted by management or designee.
• Participate in Modern Safety Management (MSM) program, ISO qualification. Maintain the production schedule as posted by production manager or designee.
• Maintains workplace safety and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Participates in on-the-job training, including process specific training for all personnel on their shift in reference to training found in plant training matrix.
• Performs general reception during off hours (when office personnel in not in plant)
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment during production.
• Report needs for repairs or maintenance on equipment.
• Shipping materials to fill orders in accordance with PWIs and SPs
• Receiving materials into plant in accordance with PWIs and SPs
• Responsible for ensuring that the plant is clean and orderly through duties listed on clean up lists or assigned.
• Meet duties assigned on daily work sheet, including blending, assisting charging the reactors, shipping, and receiving. These duties are to be completed according to the plant’s SPs and/or PWIs or Masters
• Reports material needed to fill order demands for production, to be done in accordance with PWIs and SPs of the plant
• Perform other duties as necessary.

LOSS CONTROL ACTIVITIES

Assist as needed per instructions from Emergency Response Coordinator following a serious incident till designee can get on site.

• File necessary Initial Incident Report following any incident, injury, property damage, near miss, process loss, or non-conformance.
• Ensures proper notification is made to management in the event of an incident.
• Conducts or assists in the Loss Prevention and Control plant inspections when scheduled.
• Reports deficiencies to the Loss Control Coordinator
• Follows up with corrective actions.

Completes Safety Orientation, Departmental Safety/Work instruction Training, and OSHA Standards Training.

• Complies with departmental and job safety practices, including wearing protective equipment and monitoring placement of machine guards.
