What You'll Do

As the Sr. Process Engineer, you will drive process improvements and operations efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. You will have a specific focus on PETN process to drive problem solving and continuous improvement as well as CAPEX project oversight. Other duties include:

• Works with site leaders to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the site's operations through the application of lean methodologies and the use of other Manufacturing Excellence tools.
• Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, objectives and as well as acts, and regulations
• Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OHSA 1910.119, Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals
• Responsible for modification and improvement projects through all phases of design, equipment and material specifications, construction, and inspection of new or modified facilities.
• Coordinates efforts of contractors working on engineering projects and capital projects with maintenance and production personnel taking into consideration safety, environmental and regulatory aspects of the job.
• Prepares OpEx and CapEx requests and provides necessary cost estimates and justification of projects.
• Develops and maintains process for managing process engineering files, containing engineering drawings, equipment specifications, vendor information, etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve existing plant process problems. Assist with new or modified plant startups.
• Sets the standard for structured Problem Solving, develops other engineers, maintenance techs and producers in structured Problem Solving.
• Increase site productivity, partnering with site management team, by implementing standard work, line balancing, and removing bottlenecks.
• Establish baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve uptime.

What We're Looking For:

• BS Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field
• 5 minimum experience from manufacturing operations in a PSM regulated chemical manufacturing process, with emphasis on engineering projects, process improvement, and process reliability.
• Systems competency - MS Office. Experience with SAP a plus.
• Mentoring capabilities for producers and maintenance techs to improve adherence to engineering best practices.

• Strong Problem-Solving skills. Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis skills.

• Proven engineering project execution skills

• Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
