  • What You Will Do

    Director, SC Business Systems and Support Engineering leads the Systems and Engineering teams (SC Business Systems Principal Analyst/Lead Analyst/Sr Analysts) that lead/manage all project efforts for new technology selection and deployment for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Labor Management Products (WLM), maintenance and enhancement of the existing WMS and WLM products, and/or new facilities product set up related to Lowe’s WMS Distribution Products for all DC nodes: RDCs, FDCs, BDCs, XDTs, CHFs, PFCs, FCs, and DFC, My Supply Chain Red Vest on the Business side, and Engineering standards projects partnering with a large cross functional team that consist of Operations, SC Process Engineering, IT solutions and Product Management, PMO leadership, as well as 3rd party software vendors’ leadership and consultants.

     Director, SC Business Systems and Support Engineering leads and drives the vision, strategy, and roadmap of SC Distribution Warehouse Management System and Labor Management Products on the Business side. He/she directs multiple complex cross functional product design and implementation initiatives across many cross functional stakeholders at any given time on the Business side while partnering closely with Business and IT leadership.

    Director, SC Business Systems and Support Engineering is also accountable for Labor management system data accuracy, auditing, and Engineering standards and job code simplifications in the Distribution Network: RDCs, FDCs, BDCs, XDTs, CHFs, PFCs, FCs, and DFC.

    In addition, this individual serves as the thought leader in the WMS and WLM space and also owns pursuing professional growth and providing developmental opportunities for the SC Business Systems Principal Analyst/Lead Analyst/Sr Analysts in his/her team by soliciting and acting on performance feedback; building collaborative, cross-functional relationships; hiring, training, and developing talent for growth opportunities and for ensuring skill and knowledge gaps are closed; delegating tasks and decisions; fostering open dialogue amongst team members; working closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement and development opportunities.

    •Pursues professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for the SC Business Systems Principal/Lead/Sr Analysts by soliciting and acting on performance feedback; building collaborative, cross-functional relationships; hiring, training, and developing talent for growth opportunities and for ensuring skill and knowledge gaps are closed; delegating tasks and decisions; fostering open dialogue amongst team members; working closely with the team members to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement and development opportunities.
    •Assigns SC Business Systems Principal Analyst/Lead Analyst/Sr Analysts to Enterprise initiatives based on team member skills and development needs, and program/project requirements by facilitating and managing partnerships between Supply Chain and IT leaders and Program/Project Managers.
    •Provides work leadership and training to lower professional and technical staff to ensure policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by Systems team members, including recruiting and training programs for new Systems team members.
    •Confers with IT Solutions, IT Product, Operations, and Process engineering leaders and teams, customers, vendors or others to discuss existing and potential product enhancement/implementation projects or technology and opportunities for WMS and WLM improvements.
    •Partners with Supply Chain and IT Leaders to provide WMS and WLM Distribution Product (System) and Business process expertise and align the technology strategies to meet the financial and Business goals of the enterprise
    •Oversees/leads the design and installation as well as maintenance and enhancements of multiple complex WMS and WLM products across all distribution and fulfillment centers, including RDCs, FDCs, CHFs, PFCs, DFCs, FCs, BDCs, My Supply Chain Red Vest, and XDTs. Directs his/her team to analyze and develop effective solutions to key operational problems leading product enhancements or new product implementations.
    •Develops and maintains Distribution Technology and product road map for WMS and WLM partnering with Business and IT Stakeholders on the Business side.
    •Leads and drives large, highly complex product launches on the Business side by working with relevant stakeholders (Operations, Program/Project Management, IT) reviewing and resolving issues and mitigating risks in partnership with other program/project stakeholders and team members.
    •Communicates the WMS and WLM product roadmap to Business stakeholders and keeps everyone informed of changes. Ensures existing distribution products are enhanced and maintained based on Business needs and priorities.
    •Builds and leverages solid and cross functional working relationships with Supply Chain Business leadership and WMS and WLM Product stakeholders, IT leadership, and Learning and Development to facilitate successful product implementation and change management.
    •Evaluates new technology and vendors and owns/manages/leads technology supplier relationships on the Business side for WMS and WLM.
    •Owns and accountable to execute Engineering standards roadmap for the RDCs.

    What you Need to Succeed

    Minimum Qualifications

    •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Related Field or equivalent combination of education and work experience 
    •8 years' progressive Engineering/IT/Operations/Project Management/ UAT experience in a multi-unit environment
    •5 years’ experience in implementing/ enhancing/maintaining the Distribution WMS or WLM products
    •5 years’ of Super User Knowledge of Tier 1 Supply Chain distribution products (Manhattan/BY / or another Tier 1 WMS)
    •5 years’ experience working on a project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodology
    •5 years’ experience leading and sponsoring technical or project teams, with or without direct reports
    •3 years’ experience managing resources directly.
    •3 years’ experience working closely with senior leadership (VP and above)
    •3 years’ experience working directly with the third-party IT vendors and/or software solution providers
    •Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization as well as platform skills for training delivery and group presentations. Ability to communicate and influence at an upper executive level when required, Executive presence.
    •The ability to operate in harmonious partnership with IT operations and support groups.
    •Process orientation – understands the linkages among strategy, process, and IT. 
    •Solid organization and planning skills, and analytical and conflict resolution skills.
    •Self-starter with a proven ability to handle multiple programs/ projects.    
    •Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    Preferred Qualifications

    •Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Related Field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    •5 years’ experience in a Retail Industry    
    •2 years’ experience managing operational and/or project financial budgets
    •Experience documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis, and requirements definition 
    •Knowledge of other supply chain systems including TMS and logistics forecasting and planning systems 
    •Formal training in change management methodology (e.g., Conner)
