Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures.
The Manager of Business Development will support, execute, and lead the Composite Solutions product line in the Business Development (BD) efforts for NDS in this highly visible position. The successful candidate will have a primary responsibility for capturing new business opportunities leading to profitable revenue growth.
The successful candidate will be expected to be high-energy, creative and a resourceful self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills and instincts. This person must be highly intelligent and enthusiastic with a commitment to service. Proven BD experience in this business segment, Composite Solutions, is a must.
The individual will lead Composite Solutions Integrated Product Teams (IPT’s) and support daily, weekly and monthly program teams. Their main focus is to serve as the business capture lead to organically grow the product line, and support existing cross functional program teams to ensure positive relationships on existing programs.
With independent judgment and discretion, this role will support new business pursuits across the Composite Solutions product line from the Salt Lake City office, and plan, direct, and coordinate these activities with current and potential customers, prime contractors (and military organizations with support from the BD team).
Identify and analyze trends in market sector.
Provide data and intelligence that enables the company to evaluate and capture programs of interest. Make recommendations for program pursuit, capture tactics and IR&D investments.
Provide assessments of potential competitors and projection of potential courses of action for targeted programs.
Coordinate efforts and activities of company assets to ensure complete sell, including developing tactics and responses that compliment or counter feedback about the company.
Participate in trade shows and industry forums that promote company image.
Assist Program Management and other home office functions in preparation of promotional materials.
Build networks, relationships, and interface rapport with potential customers, and customer decision makers to establish a NDS presence.
Interface with NDS cross-functional matrix team of Field Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Engineering, Research, Systems Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Procurement and Subcontract Management Develop and execute new business opportunities through Composite Solutions team collaborations.
Requirements, Education & Skills:
- BS Degree and 10 years of highly technical, composites specific experience in Defense and/or Aerospace.
- US Department of Defense or related industry experience preferred.
- Existing Market knowledge and competitor insight is required
- Knowledge of the Composite Industry is required and extremely important for the successful candidate.
- Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
- MS Office Suite proficiency with the ability to work remotely utilizing mobile platforms as needed.
- Prior military experience is desired with knowledge of requirements and acquisition.
- DoD Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Due to high visibility and the importance of this role, proper professional image, attire, and behavior are expected.

- Ability to work independently in complex environments
- The ability to facilitate presentations to senior NDS leadership in a polished and professional manner is essential for this role.
