Business Systems Manager (Banking) manages analysis activities to develop strategic plans and objectives and to identify operational improvements in a banking and financial services organization. Drafts strategic plans and optimization initiatives that support growth and profitability goals for bank operations and branch networks. Being a Business Systems Manager (Banking) analyzes emerging industry trends, economic conditions, new technologies, consumer behavior, merger and acquisition opportunities, and competitive threats. Performs data-driven monitoring and analysis of business performance used to recommend technological enhancements, process improvement measures, and new products. Additionally, Business Systems Manager (Banking) typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Systems Manager (Banking) manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Role and Responsibilities

    You will develop, manage, and implement operational procedures and policies for the facility’s business and support services, including accounting procedures, fiscal reporting methods, invoice payment procedures, payroll, purchasing, communications, food services, warehouse, commissary, inventory property control, laundry, information technology, and insurance. In this role, you will:  

    • Prepare, monitor, and advise management on the annual budget. 
    • Oversee a team and take part in employee selection, hiring, performance evaluation, training, and development. 
    • Direct recording and control procedures involving the processing and reconciling of accounts.
    • Participate in overall facility planning activities.
    • Prepare and approve billing documents; submit invoices for payment.
    • Review and approve all financial and accounting records, transactions, and functions of the facility and inmates/detainees.
    • Provide for receiving, storing, and accountability of supplies, services, and equipment.
    • Maintain data regarding the census, meals served, man-day, etc.

    Qualifications

    Competencies Required

    Excellent leadership skills, flexibility, team spirit, the ability to work with a diverse group of people (various inmates and staff), as well as computer and key software savvy are among this job’s top requirements.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in business related field such as Business, Finance, or Accounting required and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a finance-related role required with budget preparation/control or administration of government contracts preferred, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education. (Master's degree in
    • business or public administration can substitute for one year of the required supervisory experience.)
    • Must exhibit leadership qualities to gain the respect of all employees. Must have the ability and desire to work in a cooperative manner and to make management decisions.
    • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequently: stand, sit.
    • Occasionally: lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; bend or stoop, reach above shoulder level, drive automatic equipment vehicles, work with machinery, climb, walk.
