POSITION TITLE:
Business Development Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the growth of the Guardian Market. A successful candidate will build and execute a plan to rapidly grow profitable sales for the entire state/region of operation. This position will be responsible for hiring and training an aggressive sales force in order to realize our true potential in the marketplace.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Hire, develop and lead the sales team.
- Target new verticals and aggressively pursue business expansion.
- Work with operations team to coordinate all tactical and strategic business expansion.
- Relationship building with new prospects and existing customers.
- Create and maintain a business plan for the assigned territory to maintain and/or exceed sales, and profit goals.
- Expand core competencies to round out book of business.
- Ensures that all sales proposals, pertinent documentation, and paperwork are timely, accurate and complete.
- Work with all company disciplines to coordinate installation timelines between the customer, installation team, and with all pertinent parties involved including other contractors.
- Assist in the technical specification review and assessment of RFP, RFI or other similar procurement documents.
- Follow up with customers during and after installations. This is to let them know status of installations and ensure that we have met their needs at completion and if anything else is needed from a sales perspective.
- Regular attendance at work.
- Help identify acquisition targets in the marketplace.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- 3-5 years prior outside sales experience
- Ability to manage a staff of 3-10 Sales Executives
- Ability to build rapport and build trust quickly with internal team and corporate staff
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to meet monthly and quarterly sales goals
- Ability to read blueprints
- As a condition of employment, Guardian will conduct a background check and drug screen
- Valid Driver’s License
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- CRM experience
- Experience with access control, automated gates, overhead doors, parking equipment
- Experience with contractors and building owners

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a fast-paced environment and is subject to interruptions. Duties may require driving and sitting for long periods of time. Occasional need to drive a vehicle to other work locations. May require overnight stays within the region.
