Job Description
The Business Banking Officer is responsible for coordinating and directing business services products such as cash management and remote deposit draft capture (RDC) sales and merchant services activities, including the development of new cash/treasury management business, new remote deposit draft capture business (RDC), new merchant services business and the expansion of existing business relationships and servicing clients. He or she is responsible for business development and establishment of new clients for D.L. Evans Bank and will plan, develops, and implement effective marketing strategies and policies designed to attract and acquire new customers. The Business Banking Officer introduces new products to existing customers and provides ongoing communication with accounts and develops a strong understanding of client objectives and assesses their business strategies and needs in relation to their objectives. He or she engages in frequent local travel as dictated by the necessities of the job and represents D.L. Evans Bank at industry seminars and trade conventions as required.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in marketing or business preferred

Three to five years of experience in banking and sales/business management

Must have a thorough knowledge of banking practices, principles, operations, policies, and procedures

Able to get along well with coworkers

Able to use the Internet and e-mail and demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft Office products
Responsibilities
-
Engages in individual and joint business calls and development activities; solicits and establishes new custoemrs for the Bank; and works with loan officers, financial services representatives, branch managers, and other business development officers to expand cash management RDC and merchant services offerings

Assists in cash management, RDC and merchant services review with customers, and presentation of cash management, CDR, and merchant services components

Meets with customers to discuss appropriate bank services and determine customer needs and ensures that other team members are informed of customer needs and of the solutions available to meet those needs

Reviews marketing strategies in relation to cash management, RDC, and merchant services for the Bank and recommends suitable marketing solutions/promotions

Provides assistance in the analysis and evaluation of potential products and services solutions for existing and new customers; prepares business solution proposals for presentation to existing customers and prospects; works with branch managers, marketing director, lending officers, and appropriate personnel to assess the risks associated with potential solutions; and works with lending officers to coordinate credit worthiness and approvals of products

Operates computer terminal or personal computer to determine balances, process account activity, and resolve problems and enters customer call data for both prospective and existing customers into computer using the 360 View software in order to track progress

Assists in pricing and negotiation of cash management products to optimize relationship profitability and performs due diligence and feasibility analysis of cash management, RDC, and merchant services product offerings to ensure continued feasibility and profitability

Ensures that all cash management, RDC, and merchant services product offerings are compliant with all state and federal regulations

Periodically conducts a review of cash management, RDC, and merchant services product offerings to ensure customer satisfaction; conducts market research for related products offered by other financial institutions to ensure such products and services remain competitive; and communicates recommendations for changes to the products with Vice President Business Banking Manager

Meets sales volume and/or profitability goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls, number of new client relationships established, etc.

Researches and develops potential customer lists

Develops internal and external referral sources through participation in bank events, community activities, and seminars and professional groups (CPAs, attorneys, etc.)

Assists existing customers with set up and delivery of new equipment as well as provides some troubleshooting of problems with software and/or equipment

Determines market strategies and assists management with the development of goals in the assigned market area

Provides backup coverage for business banking officers in other market areas

Maintains the professional reputation of D.L. Evans Bank

Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times

Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
