CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. SUMMARY: CAD Drafter prepares detailed drawings of parts of structures from contract drawings and general design drawings as well as making revision and creating bills of material. Provides technical support to sales and operations personnel in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCIES: A High School diploma or equivalent is required plus 3 – 5 years’ experience. A 2 or 4-year degree in engineering, drafting/design, or technical studies required. Experience with metals, welding symbols and manufacturing processes a plus. Cad Detailer must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) suite of applications, AutoCAD, and MRP/ERP system experience. Must have a high level of energy; be results-oriented, and confident. Must be able to establish and maintain a strong rapport and positive relationships with all levels. Must be strategic in orientation, proactive, persistent, and able to handle multiple projects and/or customers simultaneously, as well as work within a very fast-paced environment.
