CAD / Production - Programmer

The Chapin & Bangs Company is a premier steel service center located in Bridgeport Connecticut. We have an opening for a CAD Programmer to draw and nest primarily 2D parts per customer specifications for our flame, plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting machines.

Qualifications

• Ability to use CAD software with knowledge of specific programming software.
• Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Ability to nest parts as required on sheets or plates to maximize material utilization and production efficiency.
• One year of practical CAD programming experience or training.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.
• Able to work quickly and accurately.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting customer drawings
• Creating and editing CAD Drawings from customer’s drawings and or files.
• Managing and organizing CAD files
• Reviewing Drawings and Nests for errors before sending for cutting
• Updating software, drawings, and other documents.
