Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Responsibilities
· Utilize SolidWorks for creating, modifying, and managing both 3D models and 2D drawings.
· Transform conceptual designs into functional 3D models and detailed component drawings.
· Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D design is essential, additional experience with other 2D & 3D CAD software is advantageous.
· Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of drafting techniques and excellent attention to detail.
· Collaborate effectively with engineers and designers to understand and implement project requirements within the design, requiring excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Ensure design compliance with both company standards and relevant industry codes.
· Actively participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
· Manage multiple projects effectively, meeting set deadlines.
