Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Engineering Draftsman / Assistant
Job Description
This is a technical position as an draftsman / engineering assistant in the engineering department at a manufacturing facility in Redding, California. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high technical aptitude.
To support operations of the Engineering Department, the Engineering Draftsman / Assistant performs key duties including the creation and modification of engineering drawings and technical documentation under the supervision of the Engineering Director. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. The position requires candidates to have the ability to organize the various tasks involved in completing projects.
