CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. What you will be doing:- Familiar with mechanical industry drafting procedures and standards required
- Works with supervisor to develop project elements
- Independently checks CAD work against mark-ups to ensure high quality
- Produce finished drawings from sketches
- Plans the layout of information on the drawings for field installation and shop fabrication
- Responsible for plotter and reproduction equipment
- Completely checks CAD work before giving back to supervisor to assure all drawing additions/deletions have been picked up
- Performs additional various duties as assigned or requested by management
- Attend/Run onsite and on-line GoTo/ 3D coordination meetings
- Job site visits may be required
