CAD Drafter jobs in Columbia, SC

CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Auto CAD Drafter Duties and Responsibilities
    • Create and alter construction sketches.
    • Ongoing drawing focused collaboration with project managers and design consultants
    • Management and organization of all emergent CAD drawings.
    • Printing of CAD drawings in various formats and packages and delivering them to the correct contact in a timely manner.
    • Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits.
    • Seamlessly integrating and working with project managers design consultants, and sub-contractors, to produce and alter drawings.
    • Thinking creatively and critically to support the project team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings that work.
    • Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made.
    Auto CAD Drafter Qualifications and Requirements
    • Must be 18 years if age or older.
    • Must have Solid Works experience
