Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. We are currently seeking a CAD Drafter to join our team. As a CAD Drafter, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software. You will work closely with engineers and architects to ensure accurate and precise drawings are produced.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on given specifications and requirements.
- Modify existing drawings and plans as requested by engineers and architects.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary data and measurements for drawings.
- Review and check drawings for errors and inconsistencies.
- Maintain and update drawing files and databases.
- 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience preferred
- Familiarity with glazing systems: aluminum storefront, curtain wall, windows, and various other systems, and the processes to fabricate and install.
- Can read (and understand) architectural drawings, structural drawings, & project specifications
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
