Motobilt designs, prototypes & manufactures our own line of products in-house using the latest in CAD software technology (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD & Solidworks), along with our CNC Laser Cutting Equipment, CNC Press Brake Equipment, CNC Tube Cutting Equipment & CNC Tube Bending Equipment.
As our In-House CAD Designer/Drafter,you will be an integral part of our experienced team of Automotive Experts. You will work on new & existing automotive product designs such as bumpers, suspensions, body armor, skid plates, and 4 link suspensions, as well as, tubular product design such as roll cages, tire carriers & bumper tube work.
We are a member of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association). As an SEMA member, we are granted access to 3D CAD models of vehicle components from major Original Equipment Manufacturers such as Chrysler, Ford & General Motors.
You will work with the latest 3D CAD technology to develop some of the coolest automotive products offered in the USA. You will create flat patterns for laser cutting, develop forming drawings for our Press Brake Operators & see your new product designs come to life in real time. You will create instruction manuals for our customers, develop product assembly lists for our assemblers & build checklists for our shippers. You have firm English language & grammar skills for technical writing.
You will be working with Sheet Metal components mainly in CAD, thus, your proven skills & experience in Sheet Metal design will put you at the top of our candidate list.
You will possess a strong work ethic, be self driven, have exceptional organizing skills, and have a mechanical aptitude & an eye for design. You will be a team player who knows how to take direction to get a job done in a timely manner. You also excel at being creative. You have a self-driven desire to be exceptional at your career & are always thinking of our customers.
You have formal training & education in CAD & drafting fundamentals. Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD experience is preferred, however, we will train the right candidate with Solidworks experience. Experience with MS Office software including MS Word & MS Excel is required.
Due to the nature of our multi-team approach to design projects, this position is located in-house, requiring you to be on site working side by side with us at our facility. We are not looking for remote workers, contractors, or non-US citizens at this time. You will be willing to relocate to the Dothan/Ozark, AL area.
