CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Job Description: 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Designer Through utilization of a CAD software, this individual creates 3D solid model designs and 2D engineering drawings of tools, dies and special equipment. Use of customer provided engineering drawings, specification standards, and GDTs influence the design and modeling direction. This individual provides CAD files for CNC programming, engineering drawings for manual machining and assembly, and bills of material for purchasing components and raw materials. Accuracy and technicality are the forefront attributes sought for this position.
Responsibilities: Reports To: Engineering Manager 1. Must be fluent in NX CAD: preferably 2 yrs or more. 2. Responsible for creating designs, detailed drawings, and bills of material. 3. Able to create 3D display of structure or component through solid modeling without assistance. 4. Prepare dimensional and assembly drawings for both internal and Customer review. 5. Able to generate layout drawings from provided sketches and specifications. 6. Able to produce assembly breakdown of installation accessable by other departments. 7. Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time at a computer screen. 8. Able to work independently with minimial guidance on operational and technical challenges. 9. Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time. 10. Must be clear, concise and responsive with electronic and verbal communication; including a firm grasp on Microsoft Office applications. 11. Serve as an information source on planning / design of equipment and plant installations. 12. Work is project based and can involve working to tight deadlines. May require providing updates or changes to plans last minute; may be required to balance multiple projects and/or directional changes in tandem. 13. Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field,
plus at least ten years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of experience.

There may be occasional field trips to Customer sites required in this job, or on the manufacturing floor where dust and noise may be present. 3. There may be off-site equipment training / Customer meetings throughout the US. 4. Office-based position requiring consecutive hours at a computer or drawing desk for extended periods of time. 5. This is a full-time, position that requires successful completion of the following: Pre-Employment drug screening and Pre-Employment background screening. 6.
