Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Construct component models, assemblies as requested. Understand the criticality of Transformer winding design, run program, execute with required results. Creating/ cleaning up drawings needed for supplier as well as production floor incorporating drafting, GD&T principles. Works closely with Electrical and Mechanical team members for winding insulation design. Ordering of Insulation material on time from various vendors and keep monitoring on procurement process. Actively participating daily Gemba meetings, taking feedback to improve engineering output, prepare and maintain records. Compile and correlate a variety of data, reduce data for analysis, prepare, diagrams, or parts lists and make recommendations regarding production procedures and. May work nonstandard schedules and/or at off-site locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions. May guide and assist less experience technicians. Your Background: High school diploma with 5 years of experience Associate degree in engineering with 3 years related filed experience. 2-5 years of experience in AutoCAD 2D and knowledge of any 3D modeling tool. Experience in the following tools is required: Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point, etc.) Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
