CAD Drafter jobs in Mesa, AZ

CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Take hand drawn plans and use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate landscape plans for clients.
    • Produce accurate and timely reproductions.
    • Use drafting markers to color full copy landscape plans
    • Revise plans as requested by Design Drafting Manager.
    • Learn and implement standards set for all drawings in the Design Drafting Department.
    • Implement proper calculations needed to produce effective legends.
    • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

    Qualifications


    Qualification/requirements:

    • High skill level of CAD software and PC usage.
    • Able to work with mathematical and structural concepts.
    • Have fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages and ratios.
    • Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

    Education/Experience:

    Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
