CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. SUMMARY:
The CAD Drafter (CD) works in support of the Modesto Quality Assurance/Purchasing Manager, project engineers, project managers and superintendents to assist with construction project drawings.
The CD plays a central role in maintaining open communication and partnerships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and all APCCO team members. This emphasizes the need for the CD to maintain a problem-solving mindset, to anticipate problems and to develop constructive and balanced solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Productivity and Quality
o Concept Drawings for quoting projects
o Developing Drawing Package for Permit and Construction purposes
o Updating and/or tracking changes to the Drawing Package during Construction
o Developing any detail drawings required for construction
o Finalizing the Drawing Package and P&ID’s when the Project is complete for the manuals and RMP/PSM purposes
o Developing and Finalizing the Equipment and Valve schedule that accompanies the P&ID’s

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday _8_am to _5_ pm, however, based on the needs of the job, work hours may vary.
TRAVEL:

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Must read, understand, and follow the requirements of the APCCO Motor Vehicle Policy and Vehicle Maintenance Policy
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Provide a clear DMV record that is insurable with our company vehicle insurance carrier, including no accidents, incidents, or DUI in the past 5 years (and updated annually)
Participate in company-sponsored programs to maintain or improve driver safety
