CAD Drafter jobs in New Brunswick, NJ

Robotunits, Inc., located in Cranbury, NJ is part of the Heron Group, a global manufacturer of Mechanical Automation Components such as Conveyors, Linear Motion Units, Machine Frames & Guarding Units.

We are currently seeking an energetic, motivated CAD DRAFTER to join our engineering team.

Job duties and responsibilities include

• Drafting 3D models and 2D sketches in CAD software focused specifically on Robotunits product lines of machine framing, machine safety enclosures and perimeter safety fencing projects
• Will collaborate with other engineers and assemblers to insure the timely & accurate processing of customer projects
• Conduct and participate in virtual project meetings directly with customers
• Utilization of ERP software for quote and order processing
• Participate in 5S and company process improvement initiatives

Required Skills

• 1-3 years minimum experience of using 3D CAD software. Preferably IronCad, AutoCad, or Solidworks
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated, success driven & eager to learn
• Able to work individually or as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative
• Excellent verbal and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
• Understanding of standard drawing convention, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Prior experience with aluminum extrusion systems
