CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. SCHEDULE: M-F, 7am-3:30pm (over time as needed)
Seeking a qualified CAD drafter/ CAM programmer to produce shop fabrication drawings for Portland area custom fixtures/cabinets, millwork, retail architectural casework and ornamental metal utilizing AutoCAD and Mastercam software programs.
Essential Duties and Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD software.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with Mastercam software writing code for CNC machinery.
- Ability to work from Architectural and ID blueprints or renderings to
- envision and generate accurate buildable shop fabrication drawings.
- Able to utilize software shortcut features and efficiencies.
- Knowledge of architectural woodworking/architectural detailing.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced high production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as communicate with team effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft office.
Other skills/experience desired but not essential:
- · Cabinet making shop experience helpful
