CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. As a Drafter:
You will be responsible for drawing rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data using Telka 3D Modeling Software (very similar to SDS2 Steel Connection Designing Software).
Hours:
Our detailing team schedule is Monday thru Friday, during daytime office hours - between 6am and 6pm (3pm on Fridays).
We offer flexibility with starting and ending times each day as long as you get your 40 hours each week, so you can find a routine that works best for you!

*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Internal or external CAD qualified training program
*Proficient computer Skills
*Previous CAD Drafter experience working with Structural or Miscellaneous metals
*Tekla experience is a plus
