JOB BRIEF- The CAD Drafter Level II assists the CAD Manager/Lead Drafter and Level I Drafters in organizing the workload in the Drafting Department, performs a variety of journey level technical drafting for Low Voltage Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, and field project design work. May exercise functional and technical supervision over less experienced technical staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Equivalent to completion of a High School Diploma with supplemented specialized training in drafting, surveying or a related field; Associates Degree
• 2-4 years of experience in the CAD field or in a related area.
• Required program experience in: Auto CAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Adobe Acrobat ;_ highly desired_: Revit, Photoshop, MEP Alarm CAD, EASE related programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares routine drafting projects, such as the preparation of various drawings of structures and equipment systems derived from layouts and sketches.
• Follows established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assists in design drafting.
• Consults with estimators, project managers, & Lead Drafters regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
• Works under general supervision.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative, technical, and logical mind in cooperative work environment.
• Communications skills, both professional and courteous.
• Modern office procedures and clerical duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to sit for extended period of time
• Ability to use hands and fingers to type on the keyboard and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to use typical office equipment, such as telephone, computers, printer/copiers
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to talk, hear, and see
• Ability to frequently stand and walk

Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position

$22-$28 based on certifications and experience
