CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Drafting/Document Control Department with clerical duties.
- Update and maintain document logs.
- Create and implement Engineering Change Orders.
- Input parts and create Bills of Materials in an ERP system.
- Create mechanical drawings in AutoCAD.
- Create detailed Top Assy and Module Assy drawings in AutoCAD from rough sketches.
- Adjust drawings according to feedback from engineers or technicians.
- Closely Interact with the Engineering and Sales departments.
- Work under supervision.
- Follow established procedures on routine work, require instructions only on new assignments.
- Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Other job duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to obtain security clearance, if needed, is required.
- Proficient in using CAD and AutoCAD software.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Costpoint a plus.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
- Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
- Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.
- Computer literate and proficient with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and various other computer software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with handling, tuning, testing and inspection of RF & Microwave Amplifiers.Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
- Ability to read, understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a flexible environment with multiple competing deadlines.
- Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, and minimum of 4 years of experience as a design drafter or similar role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion

The hourly pay range will be $31.73/hr - $37.50/hr. Actual hourly rate will depend on the candidate selected.
