Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play a pivotal role in the design and drafting process of generator enclosures and fuel tanks.
- Work closely with our experienced engineering team to bring our clients' concepts to life through precise technical drawings.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is a key requirement for this position, as you will be utilizing this software extensively to create detailed and accurate designs.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D models and drawings of custom generator enclosures and fuel tanks.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Perform regular reviews and revisions of drawings to accommodate design changes or enhancements.
- Generate bill of materials (BOM) and assist in material selection for projects.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing design files and documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks with a strong understanding of 2D and 3D modeling.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with generator enclosure and fuel tank design is a plus but not required.
