CAD Drafter jobs in Ventura, CA

ICI Services is looking for a motivated individual to support Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Port Hueneme, CA. We are a small employee-owned defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Services, and Technical Services to government clients in 14 states and the District of Columbia. We need a Drafter/ CAD Operator III ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment. 

Security Clearance:

• Applicants must hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense SECRET Clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to a government client using Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) software.
• Develop and Modify Engineering drawings using AutoCad and Solidworks software and production, review and or analysis of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
• Review, develop and or modify complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Develop technical data/specifications and observe and track technical testing
• Define technical configuration of equipment and technical accuracy of supporting documents.
• Assignments regularly require the use of mathematical formulas to draw land contours or to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc. 
• Works from sketches, models, and verbal information.

Experience Requirements:

• Five (5) years’ experience providing CAD/Drawing support to a US Navy Engineering project office.
• Ability to modify engineering plans drawings and schematics.
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate both orally and written.

Educational Requirements:

•  Technical School degree or certification in Drafting, Illustrating or Graphic Arts a plus.
