CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Summary
This individual is responsible for turning functional prototypes to actual production using efficient and affordable processes and developing required and necessary tooling. Create CAD (2D and 3D models) drawings of castings and plastic products, machine design and tooling design to provide a database for use in production and sales. These duties are to be performed within safety, quality, and production standards.

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment: Steel toed shoes, Safety Glasses, PAPR, Face shield, gloves, Arc Flash Equipment and rated clothing and hearing protection.
Primary environment: Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Short term exposure of temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Industrial lighting provided.
