Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The CAT Scan Technologist performs imaging utilizing the appropriate equipment for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in skills necessary to care for patients served. A graduate of an AMA-Approved Radiologic Technology Program. The CAT Scan Technologist must be competent to perform multiple types of Cat Scan Imaging including CTA, Perfusion, biopsy, and CT guided procedures, involving Emergency Room Patients, surgical patients, inpatients, and outpatients. The Candidate must have good technical and communication skills, the ability to work with all levels from staff to physicians, and triage quickly in a fast paced work environment.
Essential Functions:
Education and Experience:Vocational diploma from an AMA approved radiologic technology program, required.Associates Degree from an AMA approved radiologic technology program And Over 1 year to 3 years experience as an Imaging Services Technologist, preferred.Licenses and Certifications:CT Technologist – Certified, upon hire, required.Basic Life Support (BLS), upon hire, required.
