CAT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and answers patient questions. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of CT Department Coordinator, exercises initiative, sound judgment and discretion to coordinate procedures and activities of C.T. section. Is responsible for maintenance of quality procedures and patient care.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
A.R.R.T. registered in radiography required. CT Registry required within one year of position acceptance. (Beginning January 2003 Ohio Licensure Required
CPR Certification required
Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system) Relias (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete on line enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned.
