CAT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and answers patient questions. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Education:
Completion of course of study resulting in acquisition of ARRT certification and RRT licensure.
Experience:
Preferred: One year experience in hospital environment
Licenses/Certificates:
Required: Current license to practice as a Registered Radiographic Technologist in the State of New Mexico.
Required: Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Required: BLS certification acquired within 60 days of hire.
Preferred: Certification in CT
