Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of duties in administering roentgen rays to patients for CT exams. Assists the radiologist in CT guided biopsy procedures. Operates CT equipment, develops film, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides patient services using imaging modalities. ; Performs CT scan examinations on patients and helps coordinate patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner.

Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), pushing objects (wheelchairs, stretchers).
