CAT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and answers patient questions. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations and identifying and communicating clinical findings to radiologists.
High School diploma or equivalent required. College coursework guided towards ARDMS Board certification and prior hands-on clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital setting preferred. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS Board certification required. ARRT (R) and Vermont State Radiologic Technician license is a plus. Current health care provider BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
