Position Summary:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Director of Facilities, Security and Infrastructure or designee, the Facilities Coordinator leads and coordinates a team responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of equipment and facilities. This position performs difficult, skilled technical work planning, coordinating, and directing work of maintenance and facilities staff responsible for maintenance and repair work, directing of building cleaning, coordinating contractors, providing technical assistance and training to staff, scheduling, acting as a maintenance or custodial staff member, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Position Requirements:
Associate’s degree (AA) or two Year Technical School Degree/certification at accredited institution; 4 years trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Physical Demands:
This work requires occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force, and frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; involves exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises; risks associated with heavy physical work which can involve high, precarious positions such as in bucket trucks and on ladders; electrical shock is always a potential risk; exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
Salary/Schedule:
C-4-1 / Salary is contingent on 2022-2023 employee contract negotiations
Monday - Friday 8 hours/day - 40 hours/week
