Sustainment & Restoration Services (SRS) welcomes applications for a Research Analyst position in direct support of the Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis and the Economics Department at the United States Military Academy, West Point. OEMA conducts policy analysis for senior leaders in the Department of Defense and academic research for publication in peer-reviewed economics journals. Research Analysts in this position work with PhD economists to conduct empirical research on topics in labor and public economics using administrative data from government, non-profit, and private sources. These include, for example, data from the Army, Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, Social Security Administration, credit bureaus, and the National Student Clearinghouse. Successful analysts are typically those who have demonstrated the ability to work with large datasets, have an appreciation for and experience with empirical research, and have an interest in pursuing graduate-level economics or policy research in the future. Recent former analysts have enrolled in top Economics PhD programs, including the University of California—San Diego (UCSD), Boston University, and Notre Dame. A completed bachelor’s degree in economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related degree is required at the time of appointment. In addition, programming experience in STATA is desired.

Estimated salary range: $64,000 to $75,000/annually

Interviews will be conducted in February and March. This is a full-time appointment to start in Summer 2024 (the exact start date is flexible).
