    Pay & Hours

    Pay is hourly and most programs are 4 days, 3 nights long.

    Naturalist days average about 9.5 hours.

    Naturalists may go home at night after students are tucked in.

    Program director required to be on-site for duration of program.

    Meals & Housing

    Housing and meals provided during program only.

    Meals provided starting with dinner the first day of program through lunch on the last day of program.

    We easily accommodate vegetarian diets and other diverse food needs.

    Program

    Staff primarily work outdoor science school programs, with some history and team building programs.

    Naturalists have the same group of students for the whole week and must create their own curriculum based on the program goals.

    Hiring for the spring season begins October 1. Fall hiring begins May 1. In general, we hire more new staff for the spring season than for the fall.     Position Description:
    Act as on-call, on-site director and health supervisor for duration of 2–5 day educational programs at any of WOLF School’s six California campuses. Coordinate with the school director, teachers, naturalists, chaperones, staff, and students, dispense medications, and provide leadership during program. Participate in design, implementation, and evaluation of WOLF School curriculum as well as other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: Must have BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and minimum three years’ experience in environmental education programs and curriculum design and implementation, or equivalent experience. Requires travel, reliable vehicle, flexibility, maturity, teamwork, and excellent organizational and communication skills. First aid, CPR, and ability to pass TB test and background check required. Spanish-speaking, leadership skills, musical skills desired.
