    General Job Description:

    Works in the preparation and service of breakfast and lunch.

    Responsibilities:
      Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Help receive deliveries. 

    • Assist with inventory of food and supplies. 

    • Follow approved food safety procedures. 

    • Set up serving lines. Replenishes food items to maintain an orderly flow of customers. 

    • Serve students both breakfast and lunch. 

    • Adhere to compliance standards and mandated regulations.

    • Participate in cross training of all positions within the department.

    • Account for all meals served.

    • Ensure all leftover food, supplies and equipment are stored properly. 

    • Complete all required safety training.


    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma, or equivalent. Work skills substantiated by training and /or relevant experience. 

    • Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities. 

    • Interacts confidently with others and displays a strong customer service focus.

    • Works effectively with limited supervision. Manages tasks efficiently to meet deadlines. 

    • Meets all mandated health screening requirements.

    • Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.  Able to successfully pass a  BCI/FBI background check.

    • Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.


    Salary

    Appropriate placement on the  Food Service Salary Schedule  to be determined by education and experience.  Salary will range from $17,714.00 ( Class IIIA, Step 0) to $19,901.00 (Class IIIA, Step 5).  Maximum 194  days  per year.  One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

     

    Other Benefits:

    School Employees Retirement System and Worker’s Compensation. Upon hire, additional benefits may be offered depending upon hours worked, job classification, and placement on the Upper Valley Career Center Salary Schedule.  Some benefits are a shared cost between the employee and the Board of Education.

     

    Performance Evaluation:

    Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
