Food Service Worker -35 Hrs/wk (Cafeteria)

Roosevelt, NY

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00A – 3:00P

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Experience as kitchen helper or cook’s assistant in cafeteria or other food service setting

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assist in preparing food or ready-to-serve packages.
• Assist with cleaning work area and removing garbage.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies.
• Maintain all kitchen and dining areas (closet, refrigerator, freezer, etc.) according to Department of Health Code.
• Complete paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the participants and staff.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate proper, safe, hygienic and appropriate work methods and tasks.
• Ensure all catering requests are prepared and delivered as ordered.

Physical Demands:

• Must lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to frequently use utensils to prepare and cut food.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
