Cafeteria Manager manages an on site company cafeteria. Oversees operations including ordering, inventory, meal planning, food preparation, and service. Additionally, Cafeteria Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Cafeteria Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Job Title: Cafeteria Aide Status: Part time
    Exemption Status: Non-exempt Salary Grade: 20

    Department/Location: St. Charles Mission School / San Carlos, AZ

    Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor, School Principal, or Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the preparation and service of meals for school children. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Support the Church’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
    • Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
    • Ensure all applicable hygiene requirements are adhered to at all times.
    • Ensure at all times that health, sanitation, and safety requirements are met.
    • Maintain a clean kitchen and facility in accordance with normally accepted health department guideline.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal cafeteria environment.

    Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; and carrying.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church. If a Catholic, must be in full communion with the Church.
    • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be a self-starter, well organized: perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times.
    Education and Experience:
    • high school graduate or equivalent education
    • 1 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
    Other/Preferred Skills:
    • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
