    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the supervision of the Cage Shift Supervisor, the Cage Cashier is responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities in the Cage are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, and established company policies, procedures and controls. Responsible for assisting customers with transactions and for balancing various bank drawers, maintaining accuracy throughout all phases of the balancing process.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Accurately balances assigned bank.
    • Cashes chips and gaming tokens into money for customers, in a courteous, timely manner.
    • Cashes personal checks, payroll checks, and travelers checks for currency.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of facilities, as well as special events on property, in order
      to inform customers as necessary.
    • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by Employees under his/her span of control.
    • Practices all Title 31 requirements mandatory for Cage transactions.
    • Clearly documents transactions to facilitate the accounting function between the cage and
      accounting department.
    • Accurately process large number of transactions and currency.
    • Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
    • Adheres to and maintains Gold Country Casino polices and procedures.
    • Assists other cashiers within the cage, as needed.
    • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
    • Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
    • Be accountable for and fully utilize EDGE, our guest experience program, with each guest interaction.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and/or Experience:

    High School diploma or GED required or education and experience of equal degree. Some college level courses in Accounting, Finance, or related area preferred.


    Special Qualifications:

    Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer- literate. Must be proficient using ten-key.


    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to communicate effectively. The Employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands and finger coordination, handle, or
    feel objects. The Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
