Cage/Players Club Shift Manager

  • SUMMARY: 

    Responsible for ensuring that all Cage and Player’s Club activities are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, and established policies, procedures and controls.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Supplements the Cage/Player’s Club Manager at each satellite facility in the following:
    • Assists Director of Cage with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, which enable the Cage Division of the Finance Department to function more effectively.
    • Develops implements and directs departmental procedures which enable the Cage/Player’s Club areas to function more effectively.
    • Maintains adequate staffing levels in the Cage/Player’s Club, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed.
    • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by employees under his/her span of control.
    • Monitors all financial activities at each of our satellite properties, which relate to Cage/Player’s Club, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls at each property, the Federal and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the properties. 
    • Creates and administers departmental operating budgets and budget controls.
    • Establishes production standards and goals, and regularly evaluates departmental progress, revising standards and goals as needed.
    • Creatively resolves problems in Cage/Player’s Club.
    • Resolves guest disputes involving complimentaries, collaborating with the appropriate Management.
    • Prepares detailed reports on Player’s Club activities as needed.
    • Attends Marketing meetings as a source of knowledge concerning the participation of Player’s Club employees, in upcoming promotions.
    • Maintains an adequate stock of supplies for use in the Cage/Player’s Club as well as Player’s Club related printed material, such as brochures, for the casino.
    • Issues complimentary for guests when appropriate level of play has been established.
    • Coordinates the audits of banks, guest deposits and rotation logs, ensuring appropriate coverage on each bank, develops and fine-tunes an effective system of checks and balances.
    • Assists the Cage/ Player’s Club Supervisors and Lead Cage Service Reps in understanding the complexities of certain responsibilities within the department.
    • Reviews departmental reports, to ensure accuracy, making revisions as needed.
    • Ensures a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction, with respect to the Cage/Player’s Club areas, are achieved and maintained.
    • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the properties, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all employees under his/her span of control.
    • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Directly supervises the activities of employees in the Guest Service Division of the Finance Department.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related area from a four year college or university, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum of six (6) years in accounting, preferably in banking operations, required.  Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.  Minimum of three (3) years supervisory/managerial experience required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to write effective letters, memos, speeches. and articles for publication. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff members at all levels, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings.  Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    The employee may be required to stand, for long periods of time, at the cage counter, to assist employees under his/her span of control.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
