Function:
Calibrates & repairs measuring equipment. Supports some quality functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Calibrates measuring equipment used to determine acceptable or non-conforming material or processes.
Enters, tracks & prints reports of calibration actions in software called GagePack.
Repairs or coordinates repairs of measuring equipment to outside vendors.
Verifies known measurement standards with certain measuring equipment.
Assists in some quality functions such measurement studies & assisting in disposition of material.
Performs periodic dock audits to ensure order requirements have been met.
Keeps work instructions & training documents updated as needed.
Performs other job related duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTCA Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience in calibration systems is preferred but not necessary. Experience in quality related functions is preferred but not necessary. Experience in using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is preferred but not necessary.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate amounts such as weight/foot, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, established programs, etc.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is generally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, noise level can occasionally be high.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
