  • Position Purpose:

    The function of the Calibration Technician is to calibrate vacuum gauges and leak standards. The Calibration Technician will be directly responsible for the timely completion of pressure (aka vacuum) calibrations, gas flow, and volume in a NIST traceable and A2LA-Accredited laboratory. A successful candidate will become an integral member of the VTI team and will take an active role in learning how to calibrate vacuum gauges, flow standards and volumes. You will take on and share the responsibilities of the other calibration lab staff members.

    The following are principal duties of the Calibration Technician:

    • Calibrates vacuum gauges to VTI and customer specifications in a fast-paced environment to support a 100% on-time delivery metric. (Primary Role)
    • Builds and tests calibrated leaks and volumes to VTI and customer specifications in a fast-paced environment to support a 100% on-time delivery metric. (Secondary Support Role)
    • Communicates with co-workers, calibration lab manager, and Orders Departments, to report status of data and recommended repair services.
    • Follows VTI Quality Assurance Procedures for compliance with ISO17025.
    • Performs planned and unplanned maintenance on calibration stands.

    Requirements:

    • Associate's Degree in Electronics or related degree, or 2 to 5 years of related field experience
    • Proficiency in basic math, mechanical and electronic skills, including experience with digital multi-meters
    • Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, with preferred experience in scaling transducer output (4-20 mA, 1-5V, etc.)Proficiency with basic math skills
    • Capable of soldering and building basic electrical cables
    • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and procedures
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to multitask, communicate and work well with others
    • Ability to lift and move about 30 lbs
    • Experience with vacuum systems a plus

    Pay Rate and Benefits:

    Vacuum Technology Inc. builds leak test equipment used on the assembly line in a variety of manufacturing environments. We build equipment to test products ranging from automotive fuel tanks to air conditioners and refrigerators.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
