Calibration Technician
Location: Mira Mesa, CA 92126
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay: $45-50k annually DOE

The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our equipment and instruments by calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of measurement and test equipment. This position requires strong analytical skills, precision, and a dedication to maintaining the highest quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs and/ or coordinates routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
* Conducts in-depth testing and measurements to ensure that equipment complies with industry standards and specifications.
* Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
* Troubleshoots and diagnose malfunctions and operational issues in equipment and determines cause of operating errors and finds solutions.
* Maintains accurate calibration records, including documentation of calibration procedures, test data, and results.
* Schedules and performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.
* Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a safe working environment while performing calibrations.
* Collaborates with engineers, quality control, and production teams to address calibration-related issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
* Maintains and update calibration-related software and databases for tracking equipment calibration status.
* Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
* Installs equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
* Identifies complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
* Ensures compliance with ISO 17025 and other relevant quality standards.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
* Proven experience as a Calibration Technician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of calibration techniques and equipment.
* Proficiency in using calibration tools and equipment, including standards, procedures, and software.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 17025, ANSI, NIST, and ASTM.
* Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of precision.
* Ability to work independently or on a team.
* Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
* Certification as a Calibration Technician is a plus.
* Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820.
