Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture operates videotape machines, disk-based file servers, camera control units, studio cameras, video switchers, audio mixers and other equipment used in the broadcast of live and taped television programming. May be expected to maintain a variety of program/transmitter logs. Being a Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture may require an associate's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Job Summary/Description:
WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV Augusta, Georgia seeks Executive Producer. Minimum of 2 years producing daily live newscasts on a commercial television station required. This is not an entry-level position nor a position for anyone who has not worked in TV journalism.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
▪️ Managing the daily performance of producers.
▪️ Training, Coaching, and giving feedback to producers.
▪️ Oversee the on-air execution of newscasts.
▪️ Proofreading rundowns and scripts daily for any/all errors, including facts, graphics, and lower-thirds.
▪️ Communicating best practices and leading by example.
▪️ Leading daily editorial conversations, serving as a leader to all producers.
▪️ Effective "Show Doctor," helping producers elevate their newscasts daily.
▪️ Working collaboratively with other newsroom managers and teams to showcase content across all platforms.
▪️ Filling in as needed to produce and booth newscasts.
▪️ Order graphics, and produce special opens.
▪️ Collaborate with the news director to execute long-term newsroom strategy.
▪️ Relentlessly driving the station's brand both in news and weather.
Qualifications/Requirements:
▪️ Minimum 2 years experience producing daily live local newscasts in a commercial TV station.
▪️ Strong leadership skills, commitment to breaking news, and providing context and depth.
▪️ Great communicator who is cool under pressure.
▪️ Strong editorial decision-making skills.
▪️ Ability to fill in produce and booth newscasts when necessary.
▪️ Lead in a professional and understanding manner.
▪️ Strong planning, writing, and organizational skills.
▪️ Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
▪️ Bachelor's degree in journalism, related field, and/or news leadership experience.
